Welcome to the Llandeilo Cub Scout Section.
Building bird boxes ready for spring in Gelli Aur Country Park
Cubs are aged from 8 years to 10 and a half. Activities in the Cub section of Scouting are a progression from the Beavers and a stepping stone to the Scout Troop.
Llandeilo Cubs are an established Group. We have just finished the creative challenge badge and are close to completing the personal fitness challenge.
We are working with the Beavers and Scouts in Llandeilo on the community projects and are currently working on the Bird boxes for Gelli Aur Country Park. The current Habitats are all old and in some cases unsuitable for the local bird life. It is with this the group is building fifteen new Boxes. They are to be fitted on the 3rd of February and we are going to monitor them over the spring and summer.
With the Centenary year well under way we are working towards making sure all of our Cub Scouts can say, “In the centenary year of Scouting I was a Cub and we……”
With the badge work ongoing and the joining in work as well as the community projects this promises to be a great year. Watch the space as we plough into the centenary year.
By the way, many of you say to us in joke - DYB, DYB, DYB and DOB, DOB, DOB.
Do you know what that means?
It is short for "Do Your Best" (DYB) and the reply by the Cubs is "We will Do Our Best" (DOB).
We do not use those terms any more and have not done for decades but at least you will know its proper meaning now!
